Powerplay 264 July 2023
INTERVIEWS & SPECIAL FEATURES
After starting his professional music career at fifteen in one of the biggest bands on the planet, Wolfgang Van Halen is now treading his own musical path. The second album by Wolfgang’s Mammoth WVH solo band is a heavier affair than the debut but still with melody as the key component. We caught up with the man himself to find out all about the new album and more. Feuerschwanz raise smiles and drinking horns with their latest instalment of folk metal anthems, Fifth Angel return to the sound of their debut with their fantastic fourth album, and we talk to Cassidy Paris, the young Australian that many in the music press are referring to as “the future of classic rock”. Also under the Powerplay spotlight this month are Virgin Steele, Ray Alder, Eleine, Prydain, Ivy Gold, Averlanche, Sacro Ordine Dei Cavalieri Di Parsifal, Trollgrad, Gallaher’s Green, and Imperatore, plus in this issue’s special feature we tell you all about the albums that we can’t live without but you have most likely never heard.
