Powerplay 254 August 2022
INTERVIEWS & SPECIAL FEATURES
Nobody could accuse Megadeth main man Dave Mustaine of not being a fighter. He has suffered from serious nerve damage in his right arm, has been afflicted by Lyme disease and most recently throat cancer, and yet he has come out the other side of it all with a new album to rival anything in Megadeth’s back catalogue in the shape of the fantastic ‘The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead’. Dave tells us all about the creation of what may be his best ever work. Also this month those adventurous felines Cats In Space revisit the best of 70s rock on their incredible new double album which Greg Hart says is the biggest album they are ever likely to make, Kenny Leckremo rejoins H.E.A.T for their searing new album, and we welcome melodic death metal supergroup The Halo Effect, all of whom have played in In Flames, plus there are interviews with Loudness, Soilwork, Hammer King, Nightblade, Conan, and Bang Bang Firecracker, and in our special feature this month we name our favourite rock and metal lyricists.
